What a year! I’m glad it finally came to an end. The year rolled in, and like a dream, it rolled off.
I have mixed feelings about how this year went. I say that because a lot of things happened; the good, the bad and the ugly.
I felt it started well, with all the new year resolutions, shouts of joy and happy new year greetings. Then the big bang, CORONA!
Hmm…
At first, it was like a joke, with some people saying it was a Chinese affair. The world continued as usual until it was no longer a Chinese affair. For a lot of people, the word ‘pandemic’ quickly became prevalent.
It saddened me to hear that people’s friends, family members and some medical workers lost their lives. Some people got healed, while some had no symptoms, and so on.
Corrupt people in some countries even decided to make money out of the situation by lying that people tested positive for coronavirus. If the people had the financial means, they could pay to get negative results. The false results could get people across borders and airports.
These reasons are why I wrote that Year 2020 gave me mixed feelings.
Considering the whole issue, we still have reasons to thank God for His faithfulness and His loving-kindness. People have great testimonies about getting married, giving birth to babies, getting new jobs, starting businesses, contracts, new constructions, and so on.
From every indication, Covid-19 will be around for a while, which has led us into a new world order.
Let us keep the faith and be strong for each other. We shall overcome any difficulties, and we expect better things in 2021.
Happy New Year 2021!
2020 did bring with it a lot of sorrow and also lots of joy and new beginnings. This is a year I will always remember for the great loss it brought and chunk of life it carved out of my immediate family. I will, however, also remember the year 2020 for the new start and lease of life it has given me.
Best wishes for the coming year!!
Take heart and be strong. Thank God for the lease of life you have been given. The best awaits you…
